Iris Pauli

This course is aimed at young people between the ages of 11 and 20 who are enthusiastic about dance. Iris' dance classes start with an intensive warm-up consisting of various exercises from jazz and modern dance as well as a special focus on solid dance technique, which strengthens and stretches the muscles and develops better body awareness. Iris' dance style is a mixture of large, flowing movements, floor work and improvisation, and often includes a play of balance and off-balance moments. She considers a harmonious connection between dance and music essential, which is reflected in her choreographies. She also considers it important that her students can train in a relaxed atmosphere and, in addition to targeted encouragement in the development of choreographies, have enough room for self-interpretation and their individual development as dancers.

Iris Pauli

By trying out different dance styles in her childhood, Iris discovered her great passion for jazz and modern dance. After completing her dance education in Zurich, she continued her training in classical ballet, contemporary and modern dance in Paris and London. Since then she has been working as a freelance dancer, choreographer and as a dance teacher for children, teenagers and adults at various schools – including Tanzberufsschule Macciacchini. She is one of the founders of IriSerena Danse, an independent dance label based in Zurich and Lenzburg, choreographer and artistic director of Compagnie Amourdanse, a contemporary dance ensemble, and has been a long-time member of the dance & theatre collective oimoi.
