Professional Training Contemporary

Simon Wehrli

The focus of this training is on the conscious use of curves and spirals to find efficient paths to the floor, away from the floor and through space. Using short sequences and spontaneously executed movements, the principles of expansion and cohesion are explored. The aim is to remain calm even in moments of higher intensity and to increase awareness of your own body, the space and the other dancers present. Ultimately, the proposed form should be a vehicle for greater freedom of movement and presence. This training is based on Flying Low & Passing Through (dance techniques developed by David Zambrano), the Feldenkrais method and Simon's own ideas.
