Show-Off
With Show-Off, Tanzhaus Zürich promotes local talent. For three weeks, three groups each rehearse a short piece. These are then shown in a workshop presentation. The lineup for the 2024 edition is as follows:
Chloé Wanner, Lea Korner
Étincelles sous la brume
This
short piece reflects our inner conflicts, when our vision goes blurry
and our minds sink as if into deep water.
Supported by Claudius Leopolds musical creation, Chloé and Lea share
personal experiences with dissociation, the self-defense mechanism the
mind uses to protect an individual from overwhelming stress.

Jasper and his last bits
The stage is populated by different chairs, or different realms, perhaps? A figure appears. It is Jasper, and Jasper begins to remember, to experience again what was once tangible. Even if only for a second or two. Bringing back to life this long-gone individual’s reality. For us or for himself?
Morgane Stephan, Désirée Myriam Gnaba
puppet without a ghost
A being perched on rollers, creature-like, gravitating in a spatio-temporal elsewhere. A mysterious dream both breezy and dense. Using the physical void as its visual and emotional material, puppet without a ghost explores degrees of absence through a body in motion – a body that is both vibrant and tense, full of life and full of loss. It is a searching body, gliding in one direction and then another, sailing blindly through the sphere of its own soul. Oscillating between the animate and the inanimate, between tension and discharge, this mysterious performance ponders on both the births and the farewells that life holds in store for all of us.
