Sharing: MOLO(KHEYA)

«I have over ten hours of interviews with my grandmother, asking her about her youth, her life in Cairo, her life in France, her dreams, her successes, her failures, her political opinions, her intimacy, her cooking, her sewing…»

Molokheya is a traditional Egyptian soup that his grandmother used to cook for the entire family. The piece MOLO(KHEYA), which the choreographer and dancer has been working on during his residency at Tanzhaus Zürich, is a tribute to roots, to tradition, to heritage, to transmission – and is the continuation of a first part created in 2019, which honoured Ruben Soffer, Rafael's grandfather.

The work-in-progress Sharing will be followed by a short audience discussion.
