__plex – A dance performance in the wake of pop culture

Inspired by John Oswald's Plexure (1993), the solo transforms sound fragments into virtuoso movement and questions the fast pace and sensory overload of our time. Between recognition and overload, a visual thunderstorm of sound is created that explores the limits of our perception. In this sharing, choreographer Alma Toaspern and dancer Lúa Mayenco share their two-week rehearsal status and invite feedback and exchange.

toaspern|moeller

toaspern|moeller, founded in 2020 by dancer/choreographer Alma Toaspern and singer/composer Mathias Monrad Møller, explores the intersection of movement and sound. Recent works include The Combat (2020), a solo with a chamber ensemble for Mathias Monrad Møller; the solo ERNST (2023) for Alma Toaspern; and, most recently, their duet LIEBE (2024), in which they both sing and dance. Spanish dancer Lúa Mayenco holds a BA from The Juilliard School in New York and was a member of the Danish Dance Theater until recently. Alma Toaspern is currently a guest artist at Ballett Basel and will be a LAB artist at Kaserne Basel in 2025/2026.
