FÊTE “TWERK IT*ALL”

FÊTE “TWERK IT*ALL” is a musical and dancing QTBIPOC* manifesto.

FÊTE “TWERK IT*ALL” emerges from the choreographic work of the weekly twerkshops at Tanzhaus Zürich (initiated by Nimia Gracious) as well as the musical and dance practice of the Dancehall-Queen of Switzerland Lateena and her group of dancers The Doll'z.

FÊTE “TWERK IT*ALL” stands for a reclaiming of the bodies and sexuality of Black women and queer people, and breaks with colonial demands.

FÊTE “TWERK IT*ALL” stands for emancipation, movement and collectivity.

FÊTE “TWERK IT*ALL” shows us all* how we can confront mechanisms of exclusion with radical and artistic openness.

Pink Nation

Pink Nation was founded in March 2024 by Lateena Plummer, Romincio Luxury, Sarah Colombiana, and Andryy Manuel. Pink Nation supports marginalised communities with a focus on LGBTQIA+ /// QTBIPOC* (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) in the fields of music, dance and performance. In administrative terms, Pink Nation works together with the Experi Betriebsbüro (E_BB). E_BB was founded in 2021 by Experi Theater as a production office that supports BIPOC* artists and collects non-white knowledge about production work. Currently, more than 20 artists and groups work within the organisational structure of E_BB.

Nimia Gracious is part of Pink Nation and initiated the weekly Twerkshops and the following dance production as part of her work as an accomplice at Tanzhaus Zurich.
