Arttu Palmio

Dancing for March (alone)

During his residency at Tanzhaus, Arttu Palmio focused on a physical practice that explores the emotional embodiment of excess. Movements emerge in a spectrum of release and resistance—measured steps, steady treads, quick and nimble motions, but also lazy, hesitant shifts. Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet.

A looping playlist serves as a backdrop, allowing emotions that have grown stale to resurface, driven by the desires of the past year. Arttu's process is one of offering dances to the empty stage—discovering small choreographies hidden within larger movements, stepping into them, taking the first step, and surrendering to what follows. At the sharing Arttu will be showcasing initial ideas and materials from this fledgling research project.
