Stanley Ollivier
Residency guest 24/25
Stanley Ollivier is a French/Caribbean Brussels based dancer, performer, maker & DJ. They studied dance and musical in the International Dance Academy Of Paris (AID). They left to continue their studies in Contemporary Dance at the CNSMDP in Paris, and in P.A.R.T.S. (BE) where they obtained their Bachelor and Master of Arts in Dance.
In their work, they look into alternative modes of being, dancing and existing together while questioning notions of normativity and rigidity. Their choreographic tools work with dance as a medium for creating shifty spaces of ambivalence and fantasy, swinging between fragments and fullness, deconstruction and construction, optimism and doubt. Some of the leading interests in their work at the moment are discovering new physical narratives and openings for a conscious accessibility while diving into practice of the joyful and persistent body. They work around questions about the place of amusement in contemporary dance, context displacement, identity, humor, care and versatility.
Stanley Ollivier is a member of the Ballroom Scene and the co-founder of the broadcast show Entwined in residency at Kiosk radio (BE). After their previous performance works PARADE (2021), and The Mirror Stand (2022), Stanley is currently developing a new project called Spine Of Desire: Wounds without tears, out of one skin in diamonds and shit (2025).
